Lily loved baking. One sunny Saturday, she baked a delicious chocolate cake. It smelled heavenly! She put it on the windowsill to cool, while she went to play in the garden.
Suddenly, a stinky smell wafted through the air. 'Phew! What's that?' Lily wrinkled her nose.
Her best friend, Tom, came running over, giggling. 'Did you hear that? My little brother, Max, farted! It was a real fart! He’s been eating beans all morning.'
But Lily was more concerned about her cake. She rushed inside…and the cake was GONE!
Panic set in. 'The cake! Where's the cake?'
Tom, still giggling slightly from Max's fart situation, helped her search. They looked under the table, behind the curtains, even inside the cookie jar.
Then, they heard a tiny burp. It was Max! He was covered in chocolate, with crumbs all over his face. He looked up at them sheepishly. 'Fart…excuse me…I was just tasting!'
Lily and Tom burst out laughing. Max’s fart, followed by the missing cake, was the funniest mystery they'd ever solved.
Lily, even though a little annoyed, couldn't help but chuckle at Max’s guilty face.
